USI Day at the Zoo April 24, 2004

Zoo animal exhibits, crafts for children, and refreshments will be part of the fun at Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden for the USI Day at the Zoo on Saturday, April 24. The event, sponsored by the University of Southern Indiana Alumni Association, is open to USI alumni, students, employees, and their families. Zoo staff will have small animals for the children to observe and pet. Children-oriented crafts will be offered with the help of the USI Student Education Association. Children will create masks, animal puppets, and trace and color pictures. Mesker Park Zoo has 40 acres of botanic gardens with 500 animals representing 200 different species roaming freely in natural habitats surrounded by exotic plants, wildflowers, and trees. The Children’s Enchanted Forest offers a petting zoo and animal exhibits. USI activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue to 3 p.m. Zoo hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the entrance group-admission charge is $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 3 and up.
