Sharp elected Student Government Association president

Eric Sharp was elected president of the Student Government Association (SGA) for 2004-2005 at the University of Southern Indiana. Sharp, a public relations/advertising major from Angola, Indiana, is a graduate of Angola High School. He is the son of Wayne Sharp of Bryan, Ohio and Judy Sharp of Angola, Indiana. After graduation Sharp plans to attend graduate school, or enter the workforce in government work or with a pharmaceutical company. Along with his involvement with SGA, Sharp is a past member of student ambassadors, past committee member of Spring Fest, past executive board member of Alpha Phi Omega and past resident assistant. He is also employed as a student manager for the University Center where he works for special events, taking care of customer and building needs. Sharp spends his summers working at Fun Spot Park in Angola giving breaks to ride operators and organizing events for company picnics. Sharp states that goals for SGA next year are to increase the number of students involved with SGA, strengthen student support for USI athletics, to be more available to the students, and to create new traditions on campus. Other members of the SGA board include: Mandy Wagner, executive vice president; Borzoa Ouranos, attorney general; Jennifer Greenwell, administrative vice president for business and finance; Nathanael Atkinson, representative for School of Business; Leslie Hollins, representative for School of Liberal Arts; Glenn David; representative for School of Nursing and Health Professions and Troy Nethery, member at large, housing. |
