The spring 2004 issue of Southern Indiana Review – University of Southern Indiana’s national literary magazine – is now available at the USI Bookstore. Featuring poetry, fiction, nonfiction, an interview, art, and photography, SIR showcases the talents of emerging and established writers and artists from across the Midwest and the country. Award-winning authors, students, and teachers are among the contributors, including Suzanne Hancock, Daniel J. Langton, Nathan W. Leslie, Lyn Lifshin, Jordan Smith, and Tom Watson. Five members of the USI faculty also are among the contributors: · Michael Aakhus, professor of art – linocut: Untitled · Brandon Gardner, instructor in art – mixed media: “Couple,” “Temples” · Tonya Northenor, instructor in English – interview: “Turning the Crystal – An Interview with Ellen Bryant Voigt” · Erich Shelton, instructor in art – digital illustrations: “Bismallah,” “Allah Wahad” · Dr. Margaret Skoglund, associate professor of art history – photographs: “Cordoba I,” “Cordoba II,” “Antigua Baroque I,” “Antigua Baroque II,” Antigua Baroque III,” “Antigua Baroque IV,” “Sevillian Rhythms,” “Balcony in Flores” USI’s School of Liberal Arts sponsors the Southern Indiana Review, which receives support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. The magazine price is $10 per copy.
