USI awards Deans Scholarships

The University of Southern Indiana has selected five students as recipients of Deans Scholarships for the fall semester. Deans Scholarships cover the cost of tuition for a year for Indiana residents. To be considered for Deans Scholarships, a student must earn a minimum SAT score of 1100 or an ACT score of 25 and be ranked in the top five percent of the graduating class. The recipients are Alyssa Davis, Boonville; Jessica Doyle, Lawrenceville, Illinois; Emily A. Lee, Petersburg, Indiana; Molly Rahman, Ferdinand, Indiana; and Kathy Wood, Lynnville, Indiana. Davis is a graduate of Boonville High School. While in high school, she participated in cross-country, track and field, student council, Spirit Club, and Community Pride Club. She was a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Carl and Kimberly Davis. Doyle is a graduate of Red Hill High School where she was valedictorian. She is the daughter of James and Debra Doyle. She was a member of the dance team, National Honor Society, band, math team, student council, peer counseling, pep club, Latin club, and a class officer. A graduate of Pike Central High School, Lee is a Lilly Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. She was active in 4-H, swing choir, Junior Leaders, and Christian Youth Fellowship. She is the daughter of Beth and Tony Lee. Rahman is a graduate of Heritage Hills High School. She participated in National Honor Society, basketball, was first team All-State in volleyball, and helped with vacation bible school. She was a S.A.D.D. representative and a tutor. She plans to play volleyball at USI. She is the daughter of Eddie and Gloria Rahman of Ferdinand. Wood is a graduate of Tecumseh High School where she was valedictorian. She is the daughter of Gordon and Susan Wood. Wood was active in National Honor Society, pep club, softball, volleyball, basketball, student council, chemistry club, Spanish club, select choir, dance team, church and youth groups, and attended Hoosier Girls State. She plans to play softball at USI. |
