Craig Ehlen to direct MSA program at USI

Dr. Craig R. Ehlen, professor of accounting at the University of Southern Indiana, has been named director of the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program in the School of Business. A specialist in auditing, financial accounting, and fraud auditing and forensic accounting, he has 20 years of experience in public accounting and senior financial management with both large and small public companies. He has been a director of several U.S. corporations and overseas joint ventures. Ehlen was recognized in 2001 by the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) as Outstanding Accounting Educator, an honor that acknowledges excellence in teaching and motivating students as well as service to the profession. A certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, Ehlen is president of the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation, which provides financial assistance for programs that promote accounting careers and educational activities related to the profession. He also serves on several INCPAS statewide committees as well as on the national research committee and editorial review board of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. USI’s graduate program in accounting is designed to accommodate full-time students as well as working professionals pursuing an advanced degree on a part-time basis. USI’s accounting programs — undergraduate and graduate —were awarded separate accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business in 2003. Ehlen is faculty advisor to the USI chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society recognizing the outstanding academic achievement of students enrolled in business and management programs at institutions accredited by AACSB. USI received initial AACSB accreditation for all of its business programs in 1997. Ehlen holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a doctorate in business administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He joined the USI faculty in 1989. |
