Students to quiz Mitch Daniels
|
Mitch Daniels, Republican candidate for Indiana governor, will be at the University of Southern Indiana at noon on Wednesday, September 22 in Carter Hall D in the University Center for a roundtable discussion with students. Sponsored by the USI Student Government Association, College Republicans, and Student Ambassadors, the discussion will open with remarks by Eric Sharp, president of SGA, followed by comments by Daniels. A student panel will question Daniels. USI students are welcome and encouraged to attend the discussion. After a political career as advisor to U. S. Senator Richard Lugar and two Republican presidents, Daniels is running for his first elective office this year. The discussion is free and open to the public. Prior to the discussion with students, Daniels will visit a voter registration table in the University Center. A voter registration blitz will take place September 21 to September 23 at USI to register students to vote in the general election. The goal for the blitz is to register 500 students; 200 students have registered to date. |
