USI Chamber Choir concert October 24

The University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir will present its fall concert at 4 p.m. October 24, 2004 at Old North United Methodist Church, 4201 Stringtown Road. The choir’s 40 performers will sing an eclectic selection representing several areas of musical history. The program will include works by Schutz, Duraflet, Clausen, Dandridge, and Hampton among others. Daniel Craig, USI assistant professor of music, will direct. The group, established in 1996, is dedicated to performing the best choral literature. Its repertoire ranges from Medieval carols and secular pieces to more contemporary arrangements of liturgical and secular choir music. Students from all disciplines of study participate in the ensemble. The USI School of Liberal Arts is sponsoring the concert that is free and open to the public. |
