International Education Month in November

Guest speakers, a theatrical production, lunch and learn programs, a gift sale, and many other activities fill USI’s THREADS International Education Month. Events begin Monday, November 1, 2004. The International Education Month calendar follows. Programs are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. November 1 – Community Builders Voter Jeopardy, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., University Center. An interactive game covering the Bush and Kerry platforms. Community Builders is a program of the Multicultural Center. For more information, call 812/465-7188. November 2 – Election Night ’04, 8 to 11 p.m., Health Professions Center, Room 1002. A high-energy performance by an African singing, dancing, and drumming group from Kenya. Sale highlights fair trade practices, supports the local communities where the items are made, raises awareness about worldwide economic and social injustices, and provides opportunities for artisans around the world to share their handmade crafts. November 19 – United Nations Children’s Day: International and education students will share information about their cultures with children in local schools. Information: 812/465-7183.
