Free Success Series workshops coming up

USI Academic Skills is sponsoring free Success Series workshops for faculty, staff, and students. All the workshops will be held in the Education Center. Here is a list of workshops that will be held in January: Time Management — Get your semester off to a great start by learning the tips and techniques of time management that successful students and instructors already know. Presented by Patty Beagle, instructor, Academic Skills, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, and noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, in ED 1103. Find Your Way Through Your GPA — Learn how to calculate your collegiate GPA. Presented by Renee Rowland, University Division advisor, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, in ED 1102. Noteworthy Note taking — Learn techniques for effective listening, the three steps involved in taking notes, and several types of note-taking methods. Presented by Lori Saxby, study skills specialist, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, in ED 1103. Tips to Make the Most of College— Learn how to succeed and make the most of your college experience. Presented by Sandy James, University Division advisor, from noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, in ED 1103. Kiss the Test Anxiety Away — Learn the cause of test anxiety, effective study techniques, and relaxation techniques to help you take control of test anxiety. Presented by Nancy Myers, math specialist, Academic Skills, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, in ED 1102. The 250 Rule — Discover how impressive you are and gain insight on how to develop a lasting impression. Presented by Pat Flake, supplemental instruction specialist, Academic Skills, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27, in ED 1103.
