International Week culminates with the International Food Expo
|
The University of Southern Indiana will celebrate the diverse cultures of its international students during International Week through February 18, with games, music, dance, costumes, and a lot of food. International Week culminates with the International Food Expo from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in Carter Hall. This year, only 600 tickets will be sold to the popular event, which includes food and entertainment from around the world. International Club students will serve the cuisines of 21 countries: Turkey, Hungary, England, China, Taiwan, Guadeloupe, Ukraine, the U.S., Japan, Iran, Ecuador, Italy, South Africa, Peru, Venezuela, France, South Korea, Greece, India, Colombia and Denmark. There will be Latin and Irish dancing and music, and a student fashion show featuring traditional costumes. Kara Pike, program coordinator for International Services, said that organizers are limiting ticket sales this year in order to ensure that lines are short and there is plenty of food for everyone with a ticket. Tickets are $7 in advance for adults and $5 in advance for children 12 and under. If any tickets are available at the door, they will cost $10. Advance tickets may be purchased at the International Programs and Services Office or from International Club members. For more information, call 812/465-7183. |
