Miriam Soots of Wayne County elected to office in national occupational therapy association

Miriam Soots of Wayne County has been elected secretary of the Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD), a standing committee of the executive board of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Her one-year term begins in May. This Assembly upholds the AOTA mission, promotes association membership, and provides a forum for the development of student leadership and political awareness to enhance the viability of the profession. Soots is a student in occupational therapy at the University of Southern Indiana. She is beginning the master’s degree portion of her classes this summer and plans to graduate in May 2006. She has a current grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale. A native of Fountain City, Soots graduated from Northeastern Jr./Sr. High School in May 2002. She took classes at Ivy Tech in Richmond, Indiana, and at Indiana University East before enrolling at USI. |
