2005-2006 Deans scholarship recipients

The University of Southern Indiana’s Deans scholarship is a merit scholarship awarded annually to five exceptional students who are graduating at the top or near the top of their high school classes. All the recipients this year are Indiana residents and will receive full tuition. The 2005-2006 recipients are Laura Buck of Kokomo, McKenzie G. Kramer of Oakland City, Michael Hobson of Anderson, Allison Shafer of Plainville, and Audrey Wells of Evansville. Laura Buck, the daughter of James and Judy Buck of Kokomo, attended Western High School, where she was active in volleyball, cheerleading, and gymnastics. She is considering a major in business. The daughter of Kim Young and Bret Kramer of Oakland City, McKenzie Kramer attended Wood Memorial High School. She played soccer all four years, serving as captain of the team her senior year, and was a cheerleader all four years, serving as captain her junior and senior years. She plans to major in nursing. Michael Hobson, the son of Jeff and Janet Hobson of Anderson, is a graduate of Liberty Christian School, where he was class treasurer his freshman through senior year, played varsity soccer all four years, serving as captain his junior and senior years, and played varsity basketball his sophomore through senior years, serving as captain his senior year. He plans to major in biology/pre-med. The daughter of Terry and Tonya Shafer of Plainville, Allison Shafer was a student council representative all four years at North Daviess Junior-Senior High School. She was student council president her senior year, and was a class officer all four years. She ran cross country and track, and played volleyball and basketball. She plans to major in exercise science. Audrey Wells, the daughter of Debbie Wells of Evansville, attended Reitz High School, where she lettered in varsity golf, played junior varsity and varsity basketball, and was on the student council all four years. She was a member of the National Honor Society her junior and senior years. She plans to major in biology/pre-med. A total of 20 Deans scholars attend USI each year. |
