USI collecting stories, memories
University of Southern Indiana is celebrating its 40th anniversary in September 2005, and in preparation for the big event, the University is seeking stories, memories, legacy comparisons, and predictions to be featured on its Web site and in a variety of USI print publications.“Your stories will make the history of USI come alive,” said Brandi Hess, Web designer. “Participation from the community is vital to the success of these projects, and all submissions will be given careful consideration.” Stories are being solicited in three broad areas. The first, “Generations @ USI: Creating a Legacy” is for alumni who now have children who are attending or have attended USI. The second category, “Share Your Memories,” is for anyone with a special memory of the University. From the first groundbreaking to a favorite professor, any reminiscence is welcome. “Predictions for USI” is the third area of interest. Everyone is invited to make a prediction about changes the University, students, the campus, etc., will undergo in the next 10 to 20 years. “We encourage participants to share any favorite memory of USI,” Hess said. “And, of course, multiple submissions are welcome. Send e-mail submissions to pjwhite@usi.edu. Submissions also may be mailed to: USI Alumni Association, c/o 40th Anniversary Stories, University of Southern Indiana, 8600 University Blvd., Evansville, IN 47712. |
