Fall Fest scheduled for October 14-15

Midnight Madness and an alternative rock concert headline the new Fall Fest event scheduled for October 14-15 at the University of Southern Indiana. The event is sponsored by the Department of Athletics, Recreation and Fitness Center, WSWI, and Student Government Association. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. on October 14 with GLVC volleyball match between USI and Northern Kentucky University inside the Physical Activities Center. USI and NKU have appeared in the GLVC Championship Game three of the last five years. Outside the PAC, the alternative rock concert, sponsored by WSWI, begins at 8 p.m. Admission to the concert is free of charge, but donations to help rescue animals affected by the Gulf Coast hurricanes will be accepted by the Vanderburgh County Humane Society The featured bands in the concert are The Inheritance, Lost Anthem, and Mock Orange. Mock Orange recently performed on MTV. Midnight Madness and the beginning of the 2005-06 USI basketball season will cap off the evening. The men's and women's basketball teams will begin practice at the stroke of midnight. The festivities will include three-point shooting contests between the men's and women's teams and a dunking contest. Southern Hospitality Day starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 15. A Southern Hospitality Day provides prospective students with an opportunity to visit the campus. The program is designed to give high school students the necessary information to help with the college decision-making process. |
