USI's 2005 United Way campaign: "Raise Them Up on Eagle’s Wings"
|
The University's weeklong United Way campaign will kick off Monday, October 24. This year's goal is $42,000, and the theme is "Raise Them Up on Eagle’s Wings: Building a Community Nest.” On Monday, campus coordinators will distribute campaign materials and pledge forms to full-time, benefit-eligible employees. Other interested employees may contact Human Resources for additional information. Contributions may be made with convenient payroll deductions, with cash, or by check. Cash and check contributions should not be sent through campus mail. Employees may return their pledge forms to their campaign coordinators or deliver them to Human Resources. Fair Share contributions are based on salary: 0.3 percent of annual salaries up to $19,999, 0.6 percent of $20,000 to $49,999, or 0.9 percent of $50,000 or more. To be eligible for prize drawings, employees must turn in their pledge forms before the end of the day Friday, October 28. Fair Share contributors will be included in drawings for a variety of prizes, including vacation days, an Eastland Mall gift certificate, season basketball tickets, and Holiday World passes. Other employee donors will be included in drawings for gift certificates from area restaurants and merchants. United Way of Southwestern Indiana serves over 89,000 people in Vanderburgh, Spencer, and Warrick counties. A list of area United Way agencies is online. The Evansville area campaign that began September 16 has a goal of $5.5 million. For additional information about United Way of Southwestern Indiana, visit www.unitedwayswi.org.
