Optional vision coverage available for 2006
|
USI employees will have the opportunity to evaluate health insurance needs and make changes in other employee benefits such as the flexible benefit plan or the voluntary supplemental life insurance program during the 2006 open enrollment period, Thursday, November 3, through Friday, November 18. Open enrollment informational packages will be mailed November 3. New for 2006 is optional vision coverage. Spectera will provide coverage for annual exams, frames and lenses, contact lenses, and laser vision correction. The premium for the coverage will be paid on a pre-tax basis by the employee. Employees can learn more about the new optional vision coverage and other health insurance benefits at an Open Enrollment Fair from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 14, in Carter Hall A-B. Representatives from Anthem Insurance Companies, Inc., Welborn Health Plans, Health Resources, Inc., The Nyhart Company, and Spectera will be at the fair. During open enrollment, employees may • Apply for health insurance coverage; • Change current health insurance coverage; • Add or delete dependents to health insurance coverage; • Enroll in the flexible benefit plan; and/or • Enroll in or change coverage in the voluntary supplemental life insurance program; • Enroll in the optional vision plan. Small group meetings to discuss 2006 plans and to answer questions about flexible spending accounts will be held at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. Monday, November 14, in Carter Hall C, and at 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, in FA 166. Open enrollment will be the only opportunity during the 2006 calendar year to change coverage and add dependents to the health insurance plan, unless a qualified change in family status occurs. Enrollment papers must be completed by November 18, 2005, to ensure coverage effective January 1, 2006. If you are unable to attend one of the group meetings or the open enrollment fair, but are interested in talking with someone about your health insurance coverage, contact Michelle Davis at 812/464-1781 or Angie Brawdy at 812/464-1988. |
