The Signature Project: Be one in a million
|
The University community is invited to be part of The Signature Project, a work of art involving more than one million participants. Irish-born artist Patrick Dunning will introduce his work with a multi-media program from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, November 28, in the University Center Rooms 201-204. First developed while Dunning was artist-in-residence at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), The Signature Project is a colossal work of art that requires the signatures of over one million people. Through the use of digital technology, Dunning will color code individual signatures to create an enormous painting consisting of 171 individual canvases. When complete, The Signature Project will be larger than the surface of a basketball court. Thirty members of the USI community will be selected to add their signatures to the project. Register through Extended Services for the opportunity to be selected. You must be registered and present at the program in order to participate. The program involves music, technology, visual art, and storytelling. For more information, go to The Signature Project Web site. |
