Students generally take one or two Honors courses in a given semester as part of their normal progress toward the baccalaureate degree. To graduate as a University Honors Scholar, students must complete their undergraduate work with a minimum cumulative 3.25 grade-point average and complete a minimum of 21 hours of Honors credit with grades of A or B, including Hons 101: Issues for the 21st Century, and an Honors component to their senior synthesis course. Dane Partridge, associate professor of management, is the director of the University Honors Council. Dr. Partridge said, “The number of students invited to apply this fall because of automatic qualifiers (1200+ SAT or 27+ ACT entry test) has more than doubled since the program started in 1998.” |
