Learn how to be a candidate for political office

The Metropolitan Evansville Chamber of Commerce will host the Tri-state’s first Candidate School on Thursday, January 26, at WNIN’s Historic Carpenter House in downtown Evansville. The new program will provide participants with the tools necessary to successfully run for office and a working knowledge of the political process. This program will begin at noon with lunch and will conclude with a reception with community business leaders, followed by a live taping of the Shively & Shoulders Show, in which participants will be encouraged to interact. The cost to participate in Candidate School is $25 and will include courses on topics such as, why you should run for office; the role of the county party; defining yourself as a candidate; developing a campaign message; election law compliance; and media relations.
