Welcome new students with "January Jump Start"
|
Faculty and staff can provide a warm welcome for students by participating in “January Jump Start,” a program of the Office of Student Development Programs, in several ways. Welcome students by wearing nametags and “Welcome USI Students” buttons Thursday, January 5, through Friday, January 13; by using this FAQ to assist students; by providing directions to students; by volunteering to staff the University Center information desk on the first two days of the semester; and by attending activities sponsored throughout the first few weeks of spring 2006. Welcoming posters and yard signs will be posted around campus, and Sodexho will provide hot chocolate and cookies at five self-serve locations around campus. The University Center information desk will be staffed on the first two days of the semester. Included in “January Jump Start” is a Spring kick-off event at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, with a performance by the improv group Mission Improvable, in Carter Hall. The event is open to the entire University community. For more information, to volunteer, or for a “Welcome USI Students” button, contact the Office of Student Development Programs at 812/465-7167. |
