Homecoming royalty represent Delta Zeta and Kappa Alpha Order

Cassandra R. Bowman of Zionsville, Indiana and Scott Carr of Indianapolis were announced as Queen and King of Homecoming 2006 during half-time activities at the men’s basketball game on February 11, 2006. Bowman represented Delta Zeta sorority and Carr represented Kappa Alpha Order fraternity.

Bowman is a senior, and she is majoring in psychology. She has been on the University’s Honor List every semester and carries a 3.824 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Last spring she received the Top Student Leader award from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. She also was named the undergraduate Phenomenal Woman recognized for her contributions to diversity on campus. She served as president of Panhellenic in 2005. She also has been active in community work for Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Salvation Army, and more.

In 2004 she received the Best Big Sis Award and the Top Turtle Award (for highest GPA) from the Delta Zeta chapter at USI.

She is the daughter of George and Deborah Bowman of Zionsville and a graduate of Zionsville Community High School.

Carr is a political science major. He is a junior and president of the Student Government Association at USI. He served as chair for National Alcohol Awareness Week and Giving Back Committee for SGA.

For Homecoming, he represented the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He served as associate justice for the Inner-Fraternity Council last spring and he currently serves on five University committees. In 2004 he earned the Highest GPA for Kappa Alpha and was named Brother of the Year.

Carr has been active in Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Buddy Walk, and other community volunteer activities. He worked on fundraisers for MDA and for Speech and Hearing Impaired. He was on the honor’s list the last three semesters.

A graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis, he is the son of Randy Carr of Noblesville and Susan Carrico of Indianapolis.
