Saturday Art Workshop for Children offers new format
The fall 2006 Saturday Art Workshop for Children program at USI has a new format to better accommodate busy family schedules. In the past, the hour and a half-long sessions were held on consecutive Saturdays over a five-week period. This semester, the workshop will be held over two Saturdays in extended sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch and supplies are included in the $30 registration fee. Coordinated by Joseph Uduehi, associate professor of art education, the program allows children ages 6 to 14 to join USI art students and faculty to create two- and three-dimensional artwork including collages, paintings, printmaking, ceramics, and more. The sessions will be offered on two Saturdays, March 18 and March 25. Students will be grouped by age with a maximum of 20 per group and will display their work at the end of each session. The Saturday Art Workshop for Children is held in the fall and spring semesters, with additional, abbreviated sessions in the summer. For more information or to register, contact Extended Services at 812/464-1989 or 800/467-8600. Parents may register their children through Friday, March 17. |
