Senior Forward Chris Thompson tapped for All-Star Game

USI men's basketball senior forward Chris Thompson has been selected to play in the inaugural NCAA Division II/NABC Men's All-Star Game.

The All-Star game will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 24.

The 20 participants in the All-Star game were chosen from a pool of 265 teams in Division II. In addition to the game, the All-Star teams will be introduced during halftime of the championship game on Saturday, March 25.

The All-Star selection caps a season full of honors for Thompson. He was named to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes All-Tournament team, the Daktronics Great Lakes Region Player of the Year, first team All-Region, co-GLVC Player of the Year, first team All-GLVC, Division II Bulletin Player of the Month twice, and GLVC Player of the Week four times.

Thompson led the Screaming Eagles and ranks fourth in the GLVC with 18.3 points per game. He also grabbed a team and GLVC best 9.8 rebounds.
