Galatia resident to attend University of Southern Indiana in fall

Amy L. Oglesby of Galatia will attend the University of Southern Indiana in the fall. She is the recipient of an academic achievement award, a non-resident grant, and the Wuetherich Memorial Scholarship. Oglesby earned an associate degree in business administration from Southeastern Illinois College in May. While at Southeastern, she was on the national dean’s list, the President’s List, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and received the Southeastern Illinois College Forensics Scholarship. She was a competitive speaker for the Southeastern Illinois College speech team and a member of the Students in Free Enterprise and Phi Beta Lambda. She earned a silver award and a bronze award in Phi Rho Pi national competition in 2005 and 2006. Phi Rho Pi is a national honor society for speech competition in two-year colleges in the United States. In 2005 she served as an intern for Illinois State Representative John Bradley of 117th District. She is a graduate of Galatia High School. |
