USI names director of Career Services and Placement
Phil Parker has been named the director of Career Services and Placement. He was an assistant director in the Stuckert Career Center at the University of Kentucky, where he handled career services for the College of Engineering. He has several years of experience in university career services, having worked for six years at Western Kentucky University with students in business, engineering, nursing, healthcare administration, and communications. "I'm glad to be at USI,” Parker said. “It's an institution that is closely linked to the professional workforce and economic vitality of the region and the state. USI Career Services has played a crucial role in that mission and I welcome the opportunity to continue and build upon the success of that role." Parker earned his bachelor’s degree in public relations from WKU, as well as a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in counseling. Prior to working in higher education, he spent several years in healthcare information systems with Commonwealth Health Corporation, a regional hospital and healthcare management company based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. |
