|
Dr. Shelly Blunt, associate professor of chemistry, has been named associate dean of the Pott College of Science and Enginering, and Dr. Sangwoo Heo, associate professor of mathematics, has been named assistant dean. Dr. Scott Gordon, dean of the college, said, “Shelly brings extensive University and college level experience to the office. She previously was the college's director of advising and academic administration and served as a University Division advising fellow and a member of the University's academic advising council, Banner student team, and Faculty Senate. Shelly recently developed a college advising manual now being utilized campus-wide; served as the college's point person and liaison in the transition to Banner, and has been responsible for reviewing all college graduation applications. Shelly's knowledge of the University and college curriculum, policies, and procedures will be a great asset in her role as associate dean.” Blunt joined the faculty in 1999; she has her Ph.D. from University of Iowa. Heo came to USI in 1997. He earned the Ph.D. from University of Oregon. “Sangwoo is an active member of the University and college communities,” Gordon said. “Sangwoo has been a University Division advising fellow and over the years has served on many college and University committees and task forces. These experiences, combined with his enthusiasm, will assist him in transitioning to the administrative role of assistant dean.” |
