|
Students of USI, you can let your voice be heard on September 25 during an open meeting with a team of consultant-evaluators from other colleges and universities, representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The open meeting is scheduled from 4 to 4:50 p.m. in Carter Hall B in the University Center on Monday, September 25. The team is visiting the University of Southern Indiana September 25 to September 27 as a part of USI’s re-accreditation review. This regional accrediting body is responsible for ensuring that American higher education maintains high standards of quality. An extensive self-study was performed by USI during 2005-2006. The report generated is available online at www.usi.edu/hlc2006. The report has been sent to the Higher Learning Commission for review by the visitation team. In addition to meeting with various university constituencies and holding an open meeting with students, the team also will hold open meetings for faculty and for administrative and support staff. The open meeting for faculty is from 4 to 4:50 p.m. in Carter Hall D in the University Center on Monday, September 25. The meeting for administrative and support staff is 4 to 4:50 p.m. in Carter Hall A in the University Center on Tuesday, September 26. The exit interview with the team is also a public meeting at 10:30 a.m. in Carter Hall A in the University Center on September 27. While the team is on campus their goal will be to validate information provided in the self-study report and gain a better understanding of the culture of USI. |
