Janet Johnson named assistant director of USI Career Services

Janet Johnson has been named assistant director of USI Career Services and Placement effective September 11, 2006. Johnson had served as a career coordinator in that office since 2002. Phil Parker, director of Career Services, said, “For four years, Janet has been a valuable career expert for USI students in the College of Business, assisting with their career development, internships, and professional job search strategy, while developing strong recruiting relationships with local, regional, and national employers. She will continue to provide that same excellent service to business students, employers, and faculty, in addition to assuming this vital leadership role assisting in the overall management of USI Career Services and Placement.” A Mount Vernon resident, Johnson holds a Master of Public Administration degree from USI and a bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Evansville. She is active in numerous community initiatives and is a graduate of the first class of Connect with Southern Indiana, a regional community leadership program sponsored by Historic Southern Indiana, an outreach program of USI Extended Services. Johnson is a member of Career Development Professionals of Indiana, Evansville Area Human Resource Association, Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers, National Association of Colleges and Employers, and the Posey County Chamber of Commerce. |
