College of Business Executive in Residence JP Engelbrecht

JP Engelbrecht, vice president and chief operating officer of South Central Communications Corporation, will be the College of Business Executive in Residence on Monday, October 16. At the age of 19, Engelbrecht became the youngest person to purchase an FM radio station when he purchased WBNL in Boonville, Indiana. He became vice president and COO of South Central Communications in 2002. He is responsible for a dozen radio stations, two television stations, and 10 Muzak® business units of South Central Communications, and oversight of the corporate office. Engelbrecht received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in management from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is founder of the Reitz Memorial High School Theatrical Endowment, and sits on the boards of Leadership Evansville, Reitz Memorial High School Friends & Alumni, St. Mary's Parrish, and the International Planned Music Association. In addition to meeting with classes, he will make formal presentations at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in Carter Hall in the University Center. His topic will be “What You Need Besides a College Education: A Young Executive’s Perspective.” |
