|
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster assistance is available to residents of Vanderburgh County. If you or someone you know suffered property damage during the severe storms and floods that occurred September 12-14, 2006, you may be eligible for assistance from FEMA. Available assistance includes disaster grants to cover temporary housing assistance; U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest loans to renters and homeowners to repair homes or replace personal property, as well as assist business; and replacement grants to help meet serious disaster-related needs and expenses not met by insurance or other programs. Forms are available at the front desk of the USI Human Resources Department, FA166 in the Wright Administration Building. You also may register online at www.fema.gov. Before you go online, have the following information ready: current phone number; social security number; a list of damages and losses suffered; insurance company and policy number; and bank account coding if you wish to speed up your assistance with direct deposit. For more information, contact Human Resources at 812/464-1790 or FEMA at 800/621-3362 (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST). |
