Student Alumni Association hosts 17th annual "Lighting a Tradition"
|
The Student Alumni Association's 17th annual "Lighting a Tradition" will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 3, in the Orr Center lobby. This holiday tree-lighting ceremony was designed to join students, family, and friends in the holiday spirit. All USI students, faculty, staff, and alumni - as well as their families - are invited to gather for this festive event. Guests will enjoy hot cider and holiday treats while listening to Christmas carols performed by the USI Madrigal Singers. Children can visit with Santa and have their photos taken with him for free. Before the actual event, student organizations and individuals are encouraged to make an ornament for the 21-foot tree. SAA members then decorate the tree which is located in the Orr Center lobby. Ornaments should not exceed the size of 7” x 7” and should be submitted to the Office of Alumni & Volunteer Services no later than Wednesday, November 29. Admission to "Lighting a Tradition" is one canned good or non-perishable food item. All donations will be given to the Archibald Eagle’s Food Closet. For more information, contact Lisa Schaefer, assistant director of Alumni & Volunteer Services, at 812/465-1215. |
