U.S. Marshals to be on campus February 21
|
United States Marshals Peter Swaim and Ann Chambers will be on campus at 2 p.m. on February 21 to talk about careers as U.S. Marshals for men and women. They will be in Forum I of the Wright Administration Building. For over 200 years the U.S. Marshals and their deputies have served as the instruments of civil authority by all three branches of the U.S. government. A total of 3,067 deputy marshals form the backbone of the agency. Among their duties, they arrest more than half of all federal fugitives, protect the federal judiciary (including judges, attorneys, and jurors), operate the Witness Security Program, transport federal prisoners, and seize property acquired by criminals through illegal activities. During the program there will be time for questions of the agents. Open to students, faculty, and the community. The program is sponsored by the Political Science Society and their advisor Professor Greg Culver. |
