Goldsby to lecture for National Entrepreneurship Week

The College of Business will acknowledge National Entrepreneurship Week February 26-March 3. Activities include a lecture by Dr. Michael Goldsby, Stoops Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship for Ball State University’s Entrepreneurship Program. Goldsby, a former faculty member with the USI College of Business, will present “Entrepreneurship in the Heartland” at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday, February 26, in Carter Hall in the University Center. At Ball State, he teaches and writes in the areas of entrepreneurship, business ethics, and strategic management. As a management educator, he received the Jack Hoover Award for Teaching Excellence at Virginia Tech. He has published research in The Journal of Managerial Psychology, Eastern Economic Journal, Management Decision, Group and Organizational Management, and The Journal of Legal Studies Education. The Council of Logistics Management published a case that he and his brother, Dr. Thomas J. Goldsby of Ohio State, had accepted in an international competition. It was also presented as the featured case at the National M.B.A. Competition in Logistics. He is a member of the Academy of Management, the International Association of Business and Society, the Southern Management Association, the Midwest Academy of Management, the Society for Business Ethics, and serves on the national steering committee of USASBE. Goldsby received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, a master’s degree from Indiana State University, and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. National Entrepreneurship Week also includes a student Business Idea Competition. Finalists in the Business Idea Competition will present to a panel of judges on Tuesday, February 27.
