USI students participating in national survey
|
At random 3,200 first-year and senior students at the University of Southern Indiana have been asked to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Requests to participate were sent via e-mail to select students this spring. Students at USI who received such an e-mail and who have not yet responded are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible. Students who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate from the USI Bookstore. The national survey is administered each year to more than 1,000 four-year colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The survey is short, reliable, and easy for students to complete. It asks undergraduates how they spend their time, what they feel they have gained from classes, their assessment of the quality of their interactions with faculty and students, and more. The survey can be completed online. Reminders to complete the survey will be sent out through e-mail over the next few weeks. The results of the survey provide administrators information to help resolve problems and improve curriculum and general campus life. Questions about the NSSE survey at USI can be directed to Dr. Katherine Draughon, director of Institutional Research at instres@usi.edu or phone 812/465-7107. |
