Stratford Festival trip planned
|
College of Liberal Arts faculty will lead an annual trip to the Stratford Festival of Canada in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, August 23-26. Theatergoers, actors, and playwrights flock to Stratford to take part in the festival. It was one of the first and is still one of the most prominent arts festivals in Canada. Although the festival was originally named for Shakespeare, and still concentrates on his works, Shakespeare is not the only playwright produced. USI participants will take in performances of Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” “Othello,” and “The Merchant of Venice,” and “To Kill a Mockingbird,” based on the classic novel by Harper Lee. The cost for the trip is $360 per person for two persons to a room, and $300 per person for four to a room. Tickets to four plays, three nights' lodging, and transportation are included. The deadline to register is Monday, April 30. Payment deadline is June 11. To reserve space, contact Eric von Fuhrmann, associate professor of English, at 812/464-1749. |
