Journalist to deliver Commencement address

Jean LemMon, nationally known journalist and retired editor of Country Home magazine, will deliver the USI Commencement address at the 2007 Commencement Ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Roberts Stadium. She will be presented an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.

LemMon is a graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth. For a time she was with the Meredith Corporation as an associate editor of Better Homes and Gardens magazine and later led the crafts division of the magazine and was appointed editor-in-chief of Country Home. Her interests include art, theatre, music, and writing, and she has been recognized by her peers for her talents and leadership in the fields of journalism and interior design.

Now retired, she lives in Des Moines, Iowa, active in her church and library.
