|
USI undergraduate nursing students have won the student portion of the Critical Care Challenge sponsored by the Tri-State Chapter of the Association of Critical Care Nurses for the third year in a row. Ten students representing the USI College of Nursing and Health Professions earned the highest score of four student teams and four hospital teams in the challenge, which involved a series of multiple-choice questions. USI team members were Stephanie Becker, Brittany Craddock, Whitney Fish, Teresa Hagedorn, Holly Wimberg Happe, Hannah Hartman, Tiffany Haywood, Nick Rhoades, Laura Stocker, and Daphne Young. Marilyn Ostendorf, instructor in nursing, was faculty advisor. Other student teams represented nursing programs at University of Evansville, Ivy Tech Community College, and Henderson Community College. The team from Deaconess Hospital won the hospital category with a tie-breaking question. The six-member Deaconess team included two USI nursing graduates, Amanda Osbourne ’05 and Kayla Hoehn ’06. The Critical Care Challenge was held in April. |
