Sneak Peek of New Harmony Theatre's 2007 season
|
A song from I Do! I Do!, renderings for the costumes, and models of some of the sets for this year’s New Harmony Theatre season will all be part of the Sneak Peek planned for noon on Tuesday, May 15 in the Mallette Studio Theatre of the Liberal Arts Center at USI. The preview will give individuals a glimpse into what is planned for The New Harmony Theatre’s 20th anniversary season. Artistic director Lenny Leibowitz will discuss the productions in the 2007 season, the new series of play readings, and the Repertory Project, a joint effort between The New Harmony Theatre and USI Theatre to be launched this fall. Individuals can learn how to get involved with the theatre by volunteering as an usher. The summer season will be a landmark season at The New Harmony Theatre. This season’s plays reflect, in Leibowitz's words, “the full-blooded theatricality and elemental storytelling" to which we are drawn. Peter Shaffer’s Tony Award-winning Amadeus is a thriller that brings one of the greatest composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to life. Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest, is considered by many to be the greatest comedy of all time. Finally, the Broadway musical I Do! I Do!, one of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt’s many hits, celebrates the joys and the trials of marriage. The sneak peek is free and open to the USI community and the public. Find out why the theatre staff is calling 2007 a daring season at The New Harmony Theatre! |
