USI is second seed in GLVC Tournament

The University of Southern Indiana baseball team will be the second seed in the GLVC Tournament scheduled for May 10-13 at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois. The Screaming Eagles’ first round opponent in the double-elimination tournament will be Saint Joseph’s College at 3 p.m. Thursday. USI (36-19, 24-15 GLVC) is in the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 2001, while the number two seeding is the highest since the Eagles were the top seed in 1992 and 1993 tournament. Saint Joseph’s (29-19, 22-15 GLVC) is the fifth seed and clinched a spot in the tournament when the University of Indianapolis swept Northern Kentucky University today. In addition to USI and SJC, the first game of the conference tournament will feature third-seeded Drury University (27-22, 22-14 GLVC) against fourth-seeded Bellarmine University (27-28, 23-15 GLVC) at noon Thursday. The final game of the first round has top-seed Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (35-13, 26-10 GLVC) versus sixth-seeded Indianapolis (29-25, 22-16 GLVC) at 6 p.m. |
