Alumni Association honor for Sherrianne Standley
Sherrianne Standley, retiring senior vice president for Advancement, was honored with a special recognition from the USI Alumni Association at the Graduation Celebration Dinner on May 4. Standley was given the Alumni Association’s first Honorary Alumna status, along with the announcement of an annual $1,000 scholarship in her name. The award is for an individual who is not a USI graduate but who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the University and the Alumni Association. Nancy Johnson, director of Alumni and Volunteer Services, said the award was presented to Standley “in grateful recognition of her tireless dedication to and always enthusiastic support of the University and its alumni, her unflagging commitment to excellence in every endeavor, and her stellar representation of the University to the community.” The Sherrianne Standley University Service Scholarship will be given to a USI student who demonstrates commitment to University and community service activities as well as to academic achievement. |
