A fundraiser to benefit the family of former USI and Reitz High School men’s basketball standout Wes Attebury has been set for June 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westside Buffalo Wild Wings on Pearl Drive. Attebury, 28, passed away Saturday, May 19, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Melissa (Whitaker) Attebury, and newborn son (May 6), Ryder James Attebury. The fundraiser features autograph and photo opportunities from 2:30 to 4 p.m. with USI’s Rick Herdes and University of Tennessee men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl. In addition to the autograph and photo opportunities, a silent auction will be held with a drawing at 4 p.m. Buffalo Wild Wings’ servers also will donate 25 percent of their tips and Cold Stone Creamery will donate 15 percent of its total sales to the fundraiser, while open donations will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the family of Wes Attebury through the Baby Ryder Fund at Fifth-Third Bank. |
