USI honored at Diversity and Family Friendly Awards

USI was recognized for its efforts in work environment, scheduling, and diversity programs at the 8th Annual Diversity & Family Friendly Conference and Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Evansville-Area Human Resource Association and Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana. The conference was held October 4 at the Centre. USI won two of the three awards presented for its organizational size category, taking honors for Work Environment & Scheduling and Diversity Programs. Representing Human Resources staff, who were attending the memorial service for Kimberly Greenlee, assistant director of Human Resources, were: Dr. Mohammed Khayum, dean of the College of Business; Dr. Scott Gordon, dean of the Pott College of Science and Engineering; Stephanie Walden-Schwake, assistant director of Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness; Jeannie Kuebler, administrative assistant in Student Wellness; Nancy Bizal, instructor in the College of Business; Dr. Abbas Foroughi, professor of computer information systems; and Dr. Phil Fisher, dean emeritus of the College of Business. Donna Evinger, director of Human Resources, said that special credit should go to Jamie Barnes, Human Resources generalist, systems and benefits, who prepared the nominations.
