University of Southern Indiana has announced 2007-2008 members of the Honors Program, which offers opportunities for students who show promise of outstanding academic achievement. Participation in this program exposes USI students to a wider range of intellectual and academic experiences, provides enriching extracurricular activities, and promotes rewarding interaction between students and honors faculty.

Students who have earned a combined score of 1200 or higher on the SAT Math and Critical Reading sections or ACT composite of 27 or higher are automatically accepted into the Honors Program upon application. Other interested students apply and are evaluated on the basis of cumulative grade point average, class rank, academic background, and extracurricular activities. Students who have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours at USI or elsewhere with a cumulative 3.25 grade-point average may also apply as space permits.

Dr. Dane Partridge, associate professor of management in the USI College of Business, is the director of the University Honors Council.
