USI students who are first-time, full-time freshmen, juniors who started their college career at USI, and seniors majoring in select programs will participate in testing during Assessment Day on Tuesday, November 13.

Testing will take place in the Health Professions Center, Liberal Arts Center, Forum Wing, and Rice Library. Three testing sessions will be offered at 8:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 6 p.m. Students will be notified by mail and/or through e-mail (usieagles.org) as to the time and place of their testing session. Freshmen with a last name starting with Hoe – Ruta are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., A – Hod are scheduled for 1 p.m., and students with a last name beginning with Rutl – Z are scheduled for 6 p.m. Juniors with a last name starting with A – Her are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., Hes – Sand are scheduled for 1 p.m., and students with a last name beginning with Sans – Z are scheduled for 6 p.m.

Students are required to participate. Students without an excused absence will have a hold placed on their pre-registration privileges, and will register during open registration.

“Assessment Day signals the importance USI places in the assessment and evaluation processes. The more we know about how our students are doing, the better we are able to strengthen academic programs to meet their learning needs,” said Linda L.M. Bennett, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “We use the data to measure student performance across programs, and for comparison with students at other universities.

Classes are not scheduled for Assessment Day, and there will be no early registration that day.
