Submit your ornament for Lighting A Tradition
|
The Student Alumni Association’s 18th annual Lighting A Tradition holiday tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 2, in the Orr Center lobby. All USI students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as their families are invited to gather for this festive event. Guests will enjoy hot chocolate and holiday treats and children can visit with Santa and have their photo taken with him for free. This year the event also includes a performance by USI’s gospel choir, Designed by Grace. Student organizations and individuals are encouraged to make an ornament SAA members will use to decorate the 21-foot tree. Ornaments should not be larger than seven inches in diameter and should be submitted to the Office of Alumni & Volunteer Services by Monday, November 26. Admission to Lighting A Tradition is one canned good or non-perishable food item. All donations will be given to Archibald Eagle’s Food Closet which was established by the USI Health Services Office to assist USI students through difficult times. For more information, contact Lisa Schaefer, assistant director of Alumni and Volunteer Services, at 812/465-1215. |
