|
University of Southern Indiana is hosting an information reception beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18 for Illinois parents, high school students, and transfer students who are interested in attending the University of Southern Indiana, located in Evansville, Indiana. The program will be held at Windsor Oaks Best Western Inn at Interstate 64 and Illinois Highway 1 near Grayville. Refreshments will be served. The reception, free and open to the public, continues to 8:30 p.m. Jordan Wiles, a junior at USI and a graduate of Fairfield Community High School and Frontier Community College, attended such a program. Wiles said, “I had questions about the academic programs, costs to attend USI, and I wanted to meet the people at the University. For me, the reception opened the door to USI. I’m encouraging other high school students, transfer students, and parents to attend the Grayville reception. It is a convenient way to be introduced to the academic programs and scholarship options at USI.” Wiles is a psychology major. USI admission staff will offer information on the University’s academic programs, new scholarships for Illinois residents, the enrollment process, student housing, and orientation programs. Megan Wiles Black, a senior admission counselor, will be at the reception. She said, “This reception is an opportunity to learn about the University of Southern Indiana’s scholarship opportunities for Illinois residents. These awards are making a significant impact for Illinois students, allowing USI to be competitive among other higher education institutions in the Midwest.” Individuals who cannot attend the reception but want to know more about USI, can visit the campus on Southern Hospitality Days scheduled for Saturday, March 29 and Saturday, April 26. Activities for Southern Hospitality Days start at 8 a.m. at USI. Reservations are encouraged for the reception and/or the visitation days and may be made by calling 1/800-467-1965. |
