USI partnering with Innovation Pointe

USI is the education partner for Innovation Pointe, which opened this spring at 318 Main Street in downtown Evansville. The entrepreneurial division of the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville (GAGE), Innovation Pointe assists in the creation and growth of new businesses in the Evansville area. The first USI course offered at Innovation Pointe was the successful Candidate School program in February. As education partner, USI will offer services including: • Undergraduate and graduate courses (beginning fall 2008) • Noncredit courses and seminars beginning this spring (see descriptions here) • Specialized information technology seminars and hands-on programs • Student interns, faculty applied research, and consulting support to the technology businesses located in Innovation Pointe, provided by USI’s Center for Applied Research (CAR) • Access to services of USI’s Organizational/Professional Development group, including assessment, human resource development planning, and customized training • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-related workshops and activities for middle and high school students • Support for entrepreneurs of all kinds • Hands-on computer application courses For more information and a list of noncredit courses offered this spring, contact Extended Services. |
