Scholarships for graduate students

Five $1,000 scholarships are available for graduate students at USI because of the generosity of the late Jennings D. and Josephine K. Carter. These are the first graduate scholarships awarded by Graduate Studies that are funded by the USI Foundation.

Students accepted to a graduate degree program for the next academic year are eligible to apply along with USI graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in all graduate course work completed by May 2008. Newly accepted students are eligible if they have an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 from a degree-granting institution and a graduate GPA of 3.5 in any graduate course work completed. Applicants are required to write a two-page essay on the topic, “How will receiving this scholarship make a difference?”

Complete details are available in the Office of Graduate Studies in WA 104. All applications are due by April 11, 2008.
