Listen to alumnus interview on health and national security

Reporter Micah Schweizer of Evansville’s public radio station WNIN interviewed USI alumnus Dr. Travis Taylor on campus last week. Taylor discussed how the health of the world impacts U.S. national security. Listen to the interview on the WNIN Web site under "Recent Stories." Taylor is a science consultant at Gryphon Scientific, where he provides scientific expertise to government and private clients. He presented the Pott College of Science and Engineering Alumni in Residence program “The Impact of International Health on National Security” on March 26. He was formerly an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow, serving as a science advisor for the U.S. Department of Defense Biological Threat Reduction Program. Taylor is a 1994 USI graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He earned his Ph.D. in virology from Harvard University in 2002. As a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, he identified host factors that are involved in herpes simplex virus replication and developed a West Nile virus vaccine. |
