Listening sessions for rural residents

Rural residents of Indiana can participate in listening sessions across southern Indiana this week. The results from these sessions will be used to update Indiana’s current rural strategy. This week’s sessions, which are open to all rural residents, leaders, and interested parties, will follow this schedule: Monday, August 4 in Princeton; Tuesday, August 5 in Washington; Wednesday, August 6 in Seymour, and Thursday, August 7 in Sullivan. The Web site, www.beyondtheboundaries.in.gov, provides specific time and location information. The Center for Applied Research at the University of Southern Indiana is assisting Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs conduct 12 regional strategic plan listening sessions across Indiana. Sessions have been conducted by Dr. Susan Ellspermann, director of the center, in Batesville, New Castle, Decatur, Angola, Nappanee, and LaPorte.
